Optua Community Transport provides a wide range of transport services for people in the Mid Suffolk area.
All Optua's transport services are fully accessible to disabled people but most of them are available to anyone who wants to use them. They are a very useful way for older people or anyone living in rural Mid Suffolk to get about.
Some of the services link up with bus services on the main routes to help people from isolated villages get to places like Ipswich, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds.
The services include the Suffolk Links - Gipping service, (formally known as Club 88), the Dial-a-Ride service and other community bus and car services which can be booked for individual local journeys. We also have a wheelchair accessible minibus available for group use.
Most of Optua's Community Transport services are run in partnership with Suffolk County Council's Environment and Transport Department and we also receive funding from Mid Suffolk District Council.

Volunteer Drivers needed
Volunteer drivers are vital to the running of our transport services and we are always looking for more volunteers to help run our services.

Volunteer driving is very rewarding, giving you the chance to meet people and to get out and about in the Suffolk countryside. You will also be helping to provide a vital role in assisting people who may be isolated by a disability or other circumstances, to get about the county. Volunteer driving is very flexible and can appeal to a range of people. If you use your own car for the community car scheme you will be given a generous mileage allowance. If you are interested please call us on 01449 614271.
