Optua Homecare has established itself as a provider of quality domiciliary care services to people with disabilities in their own homes. It supports clients to increase or maintain their independence. The service is delivered in ways that take account of client's wishes, needs and personal choices, to enhance their quality of life.
Where is Optua Homecare based?
Optua Homecare is based in Woodbridge, in accommodation shared with other voluntary organisations - the Disability Advice Service and Home Start. This location offers access to people living in the south and east of the county, including Ipswich, Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Saxmundham, Aldeburgh and Leiston.
Optua Homecare received a rating of 'excellent' from the Care Quality Commission . Click here for more information.
Who works for us?
Currently the agency has a full-time manager, deputy and two co-ordinators, supported by an administrator who are all office-based.
The care and support to our clients is delivered by suitably skilled and experienced staff, managed and supported by the office-based staff. Together this team makes up Optua Homecare.
How are clients referred to the agency?
Anyone can refer a client to Optua Homecare. Examples of the referral process are:
1. Via Adult and Community Services. In this case the client will have been assessed by them as needing a domiciliary care service. We will also carry out our own assessment to determine whether we can effectively meet the client's needs.
2. A client who is self-funding (or a relative on their behalf) can refer directly to Optua Homecare. Again, we will carry out our own assessment to determine whether we can provide a service that will effectively meet the client's needs.
3. We also receive referrals from GPs, District Nurses and other organisations such as Age Concern and Suffolk Family Carers.
How much will it cost?
The scale of charges is calculated at an hourly rate and the minimum length of a visit is 30 minutes. For those clients who are referred via Adult and Community Services, the charges will be in line with the county council's charging procedures and prices. Otherwise, the charges reflect the input needed from the Agency to provide the care and support that the client needs. The actual charges will be discussed and given in writing at the time it is agreed that a service can be provided. All charges will be subject to regular review.
Why Choose Us?
As an organisation, Optua has a proven track record in providing quality services and support to disabled people. These have been developed in response to client feedback. This is because we want to provide services that really meet people's needs. Optua's Homecare service shares this aim, taking into account the existing and changing needs of clients and providing flexible care support at home.
We listen and respond to how our clients want the service to be delivered to them. We provide quality, person-centred services which enable disabled people to have their wishes respected, their choices met, whilst enabling them to sustain and, whenever possible, improve their independence.
We have been accredited as a domiciliary care provider with Suffolk County Council and are registered with the Care Quality Commission. During 2006 CQC assessed us as providing a 'good quality' service.
We would like to hear from anyone who might be interested in receiving a service from us. If you would like to know more about Optua Homecare, or discuss whether we can provide you (or someone you care for) with a service, please let us know.
