How You Can Help Us

Optua provides a wide range of services to disabled people and we are always looking to develop what we do to reach more people.

As a charity, our services rely heavily both on donations and volunteers to keep them running. The more help we get, the more we can do. If you would like to help us you can do it in several ways:

Donations
If you would like to make a donation to Optua please contact us on 01473 836777 or email enquiries@optua.org.uk. You can also send a cheque made payable to Optua to:

You can download a form here to send with your donation which gives you the option of declaring it as Gift Aid, which means we are able to claim back some of the tax and make the most of your donation.

Fundraising
Can you help us raise funds? Perhaps your school or organisation would like to have a casual clothes day as a fun way of raising money for us? Or maybe you could arrange a coffee morning or tombola? Do you have any other ideas? You can call our fundraising office on 01473 836744.

Volunteering
If you can spare any time to help us, no matter how many hours a week, we would love to hear from you. Over 150 volunteers help us run services and events and are very important to the running of Optua. It's very rewarding and is a useful way of gaining experience for people interested in working with disabled people or in the field of social care.

To volunteer with us you can get in touch with the Volunteer Centre in Stowmarket on 01449 612486 or drop in for a chat. The centre is based at 5 Poplar Hill in Stowmarket and is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 10am to 2pm. There's always an answer-phone on to take messages and you can also email volunteer.centre@optua.org.uk.
